Wednesday Writer – Jess

I am absolutely loving the chance to feature other bloggers who I have been following on WordPress. Today I am interviewing one of my favourite bloggers, Jess – favourite because I love her poems.

HEY JESS – WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DRINK WHILE WE ARE CONDUCTING THIS INTERVIEW WITH YOU?

Hello! Thank you for having me today! I’ve been a bit anxious lately, so I’ll take a cup of chamomile tea, please.

COULD YOU TELL US YOUR BLOGGING NAME AND THE NAME OF YOUR SITE PLEASE.

My blogging name is Jess, and the name of my site is Chaos of Life.

WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING?

I started my blog in April of 2020.

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?

I had always liked writing, but I was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic with notebooks filled with poems and stories that I would never show anyone, even more so with the pandemic. So, blogging for me started as a sort of creative outlet, so that I could vent some of my feelings through poems that reflected my thoughts.

I think, though, that the initial purpose of blogging changed gradually, so now I continue blogging in hopes that my poems can make someone’s day better, while still trying to stay true to myself.

WHICH IS THE MOST POPULAR POST ON YOUR SITE?

The most popular post on my site is a poem titled “love letter“, which is basically a poem describing why I write and what I hope to achieve through my poems.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BLOGGING?
I think the best thing about blogging is getting a comment that tells you that you made their day better. You get a rush of endorphins and that euphoric feeling follows you through the entire day. It’s great, honestly! šŸ™‚

IF I WAS GOING TO SEND YOU FLOWERS AS A THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME INTERVIEW, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?

I love crocus flowers because they’re the most vibrant shade of purple (my favorite color), and they are a fall flower (I love autumn).

Jess – here in the UK we have crocus flowers in the spring – in fact they are one of the very first flowers to appear in spring and a sign that winter is over. I love seeing them too.

DO YOU HAVE A SONG? ONE THAT FITS YOU AS A PERSON OR YOUR LIFE?

I particularly like Fix You by Coldplay.

I’m the type of person who (so I have been told) can kind of intimidate people when they first meet me, since I’m quiet and seem pretty intense. But, once you get to know me, I’m someone who worries and stresses a lot about my actions and about other events going on in my life, and constantly reflects on myself and problems in society. Fix You, I think, perfectly encapsulates how I try to live my life by, acknowledging that you can’t have light without shadows – happiness without sadness – and that the best thing I can do is be there for myself or for others during those dark times.

DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING IN LIFE?

I can’t say I particularly know where I am going in life, except the fact that I know I am currently facing a crossroads (if you read my blog, then you know that I am still in school). I really hope that where I end up is a place where I feel proud of myself.

WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU WANT YOUR BLOG TO TELL THE WORLD?

I want the world to know that there is always someone there for you, even if it feels like you are alone in the middle of nowhere.

I want readers to know that there is both dark and light in society, and we must acknowledge both in order to grow.

I want everyone to know that you can be anything, as long as you try, and that you can succeed at anything, as long as you believe.

Thank you so much for interviewing me! I wholeheartedly enjoyed answering each question!
